               Albert Tucker เรียกชื่อ ทฤษฎีเกมแบบหนึ่งว่า Prisoners’ dilemma (Poundstone 1992) ซึ่งใช้อธิบายความล้มเหลวของส่วนรวมทำให้เกิดความเสียหายสาธารณะ ต่อมา John Nash แสดงวิธีคำนวณความเสียหายที่เกิดจากกับดัก Prisoners’ dilemma เรียกว่า Nash equilibrium (Nash 1950; Nash 1951; Nasar 1998; Mehlmann 2000)
