DPEM curriculum

The program has carefully crafted the curriculum structure to contribute to students learning experience. The last revision was in 2017. There are 2 main plan including ;

Plan 1.1 – 48 credits of Ph.D. thesis: 6 credits of remedial courses (noncredit), recommended courses by main advisor (non-credit) and 48 credits of Ph.D. thesis.

Plan 2.1 – 36 credits of Ph.D. thesis and 21 credits of course works: 6 credits of remedial courses (non-credit), recommended courses by main advisor (non-credit), 6 credits of core courses, 6 credits of research methodology courses, 9 credits of elective courses and 36 credits of Ph.D. thesis.

Plan 2.2 (Master and Ph.D. program) – 48 credits of Ph.D. thesis and 33 credits of course works: 6 credits of remedial courses (non-credit), 12 credits of fundamental courses, 6 credits of core courses, 6 credits of research methodology courses, 9 credits of elective courses and 48 credits of Ph.D. thesis.

The core courses (courses with course code 61xx) are put in the first sequence to prepare new student. As the program accept those who are with and without background in environmental management, it is important to make sure that all students are prepared with certain degree of founding knowledge of environmental management. Together with core courses, Ph.D. students, whose English does not meet DPEM requirement, are required to attend 2 language courses; LC 4003 and LC 6000, respectively.
